An Indianapolis policeman was charged Monday evening with altering a prescription for painkillers at the CVS Pharmacy in Decatur Township.
Marion County sheriff's deputies arrested Mark Kuykendall, a Heartland Crossing resident, after he left the CVS store on Kentucky Avenue Monday afternoon.
Kuykendall, an eight-year Indianapolis Police veteran, is assigned to the Indianapolis North District. He was on leave from IPD to recover from recent surgeries to both shoulders, two knee operations and the removal of a tumor on his foot.
According to the Marion County Sheriff's office police report, Kuykendall, allegedly altered a legitimate prescription for 20 Valium to read 50 Valium.
