A LAWYER who smuggled drugs into a Scottish jail failed to appear in court today because she is receiving psychiatric help.
Shamed Angela Baillie, 32, was due to be sentenced for passing heroin and Valium to a prisoner in Glasgow's Barlinnie jail.
But defence QC Paul McBride told the High Court in Edinburgh that soon after the court appearance where she admitted the offence she had gone for treatment at an institution "down south".
Judge Lord Kinclaven was shown a note from a psychiatrist at the institution - not named in court - confirming that Ms Baillie was unfit to appear.
