Terry Dennison, 48, of 2404 N.C. 66 South in Kernersville was charged Sept. 7 with misdemeanor assault on a female, court records show.
He was accused July 13 of assaulting his sister, Rita La'Shai Dennison of Kernersville, by grabbing her, hitting her and shoving her, an arrest warrant says.
• Jason Linny Buttry, 22, of Greensboro pleaded guilty Sept. 6 to felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor simple possession of a controlled substance, court records show. A judge gave him a 45-day suspended sentence, put him on probation for one year, fined him $250, and ordered him to pay a $200 community-service fine and to perform 50 hours of community service within six months.
A Kernersville police officer accused Buttry on Aug. 25, 2004, of possessing cocaine and Diazepam, a citation says. Diazepam is a mild tranquilizer most commonly sold in the United States under the brand name Valium.
• Joyce Marie Adams, 46, of Eden pleaded guilty guilty Sept. 6 to misdemeanor simple possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possesion of drug paraphernalia, court records show. A judge gave her a 120-day suspended sentence, put her on probation for one year and fined her $200.
A Kernersville police officer accused her Nov. 17 of possessing 2 1/2 Xanax pills and a glass crack pipe on South Main Street, a citation says. Xanax is a tranquilizer used to treat symptoms of anxiety or anxiety disorders.
• Jessica Amber Ruth, 20, of 120 Farmwood Drive, Apt. 88-B in Kernersville pleaded guilty Sept. 6 to misdemeanor possession of marijuana up to 1/2 ounce and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. A judge gave her a 45-day suspended sentence, put her on probation for 18 months and fined her $300.
A Kernersville police officer accused Ruth on Dec. 30 of possessing less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana and a glass bong in her apartment, a citation says.
• John Robert Morgan, 23, of 6033 Timberwood Trails in Kernersville pleaded guilty Sept. 6 to misdemeanor possession of marijuana between 1/2 ounce and 1 1/2 ounces and driving while his license was revoked, court records show. A judge gave Morgan a 90-day suspended sentence, put him on probation for one year and fined him $400.
Morgan was accused April 17 of possession of more than 1/2 ounce of marijuana and driving while his license was revoked, a citation says.
• Pablo Salgado Martinez, 30, of 36 Yarbrough Ave., Apt. 47 in Winston-Salem pleaded guilty Sept. 6 to driving while impaired, court records show. A judge gave him a 120-day suspended sentence, put him on probation for one year, fined him $200, ordered him to serve 48 hours in jail and gave him credit for 29 days he spent in jail awaiting his court appearance.

• Maximino Loredo Martinez, 30, of Ben Joyce Lane in Kernersville was convicted of driving while impaired, and hit and run, causing property damage, court records show. A judge sentenced him to one year and 45 days in jail.
Loredo was accused May 22 of leaving a scene of a wreck in his vehicle, having a moderate odor of alcohol, having glassy and bloodshot eyes, being unsteady on his feet and admitting to a Kernersville police officer that he had been drinking, the records show.
He tested 0.15 on a Breathalyzer test. Under state law, a person is considered legally impaired with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08.
• Aparicio Alberto Figuerto, 24, of 236 Trent St., Apt. 1 in Kernersville pleaded guilty Sept. 6 to driving while impaired. A judge gave him a 120-day suspended sentence, put him on probation for one year, fined him $300, ordered him to serve 48 hours in jail and gave him credit for the 11 days he spent awaiting his court appearance.

• Cuauhtemoc Razo Contreras, 30, of 221 Fiddlers Knoll Court in Kernersville pleaded guilty Sept. 6 to driving while his license was revoked and displaying a revoked tag on his license plate, court records show. A judge gave him a 30-day suspended sentence, put him on probation for one year and fined him $200.

• Benjamin Hartley of Kernersville reported to police on Sept. 11 that someone damaged his mailbox. The mailbox was dented and would not close completely. Damage to the mailbox was estimated at $15.
• Thomas Walter Ludington of Whitsett reported to Kernersville police Sept. 7 that someone took $100 from his room at the Kings Inn.
• Lester William Goforth, an employee of Koontz Masonary of Lexington, reported to Kernersville police Sept. 8 that someone took 100 wooden pallets and two metal concrete pans from a construction site on Old Winston Road. The items were valued at $1,800.
• Tramona Lavern Crawford, an employee of Alltel in Kernersville, reported to police Sept. 8 that someone took $299.65 from the business.
• Paul Leroy Tomlinson of Kernersville reported to police Sept. 8 that someone took a string trimmer from his residence. The trimmer was valued at $100.
• Jerry Joseph Larson of Climax, Minn., reported to Kernersville police Sept. 13 that his Chevrolet Blazer was broken into while it was parked on Old Winston Road and $125 was taken. Damage to the SUV was estimated at $100.
• Kernersville police went to the AAA Quick Mart on Piney Grove Road to investigate a break-in Sept. 9. A concrete block had been thrown at the front door, breaking the glass. Damage to the door was estimated at $500.
• Someone broke a door window at Modern Cleaners on Sept.9 and took a cash register with little money in it. Damage to the door and window was estimated to be $180 and the cash register was valued at $125.
• James Dennison of Winston-Salem reported to Kernersville police Sept. 9 that someone broke a window at Countryside Cinema and took an undetermined number of movie tickets. Damage to the window was estimated at $200.
